(1) Before installing the oil seal, it is necessary to check whether the appearance of the main journal of the high temperature gear pump is too rough and whether there are scars, especially whether there are long scars along the axial direction. If the surface of the journal is too rough, it is easy to damage the oil seal or accelerate the wear of the lip 1:3, damaging its sealing performance. If the surface of the journal is not properly disassembled and assembled to form serious blunt impact scars, the oil seal lip will not fit tightly with the surface of the journal, resulting in oil leakage. Under the above two conditions, replace the shaft with a new one. If the journal only needs metal burrs or shaft head flash, it can be smoothed with a file to prevent damage to the oil seal lip when the oil seal is installed.
(2) Check whether the oil seal lip is damaged, cracked or corroded by oil. If there are any such defects, replace the oil seal with a new one.
(3) When installing the framework oil seal, special device tools shall be selected to prevent the oil seal lip from being stretched, deformed or scratched. If there is no such tool, the following method can be used for installation: roll a layer of clear hard plastic film (commonly known as cellophane) on the journal and even the shaft head, apply a small amount of engine oil on its surface, insert the oil seal into the shaft head wrapped with plastic film, push the oil seal slowly to the journal with uniform force, and then pull out the plastic film. Note: do not install the lip in the wrong direction. Make it face the inside of the oil storage, and the side with trademark and specification face the outside. Because lip 1:3 can only be sealed in one direction, if the oil seal is reversed, oil leakage will inevitably occur, and the sealing effect will be weakened or invalid. It is necessary to prevent the oil seal from being crooked or being knocked on the surface of the oil seal with tools such as hammer, or the oil seal may be damaged.
(4) During the installation, the oil seal (especially the lip) and the journal shall be kept clean, and attention shall be paid not to make the oil seal jump out of the tension spring groove from the tension spring. If the self tightening tension spring is loosened and the elasticity is weakened, it can be cut off according to the situation, and the two ends can be connected reliably for continuous use.
