Causes And Solutions Of Hydraulic Motor Heating

Apr 20, 2022

Hydraulic motor and hydraulic pump are the two main heat sources in the hydraulic system. The hydraulic motor is an actuator, which mainly performs rotary motion. It is a process of converting pressure energy into mechanical energy. Hydraulic pump is a process that mechanical energy is transformed into pressure energy, that is, it provides pressure source for the whole hydraulic system. Today we are analyzing the heating problem of hydraulic motor. Heating is inevitable in the whole hydraulic system, but it must be strictly controlled. As the name suggests, heating is the loss of energy, that is, a lot of power directly becomes heat while doing useless work. In other words, under the same working conditions, the more serious the heating of the hydraulic motor, the worse the performance of the hydraulic motor, and the general mechanical efficiency is low. Therefore, when designing the hydraulic motor, the static pressure balance and the mechanical friction coefficient should be as small as possible, so as to improve the mechanical efficiency as much as possible and not make the hydraulic motor very hot. However, it is inevitable that the hydraulic motor is heated during operation.

There may be two factors that determine the heating of the hydraulic motor, namely, the working pressure and the working speed. Generally, the higher the pressure and speed, the more serious the heating of the hydraulic motor will be.

Generally, the working oil temperature of the hydraulic motor shall be controlled below 70 ℃ as far as possible. If it is too high, the cooling system must be used. The common cooling systems include water cooling and air cooling, and the effect of water cooling is better. The better the heating control of the hydraulic system, the better the stability of the hydraulic system, and the hydraulic components will not have problems.
